Paris IV
Scenography
The project concerned the exhibition of 454 architectural projects. The intention was to display them in such a way that all the architectural proposals and their wealth of ideas could be presented without risk of visitors being overcome by weariness or overwhelmed by the sheer number of projects.
This was the fundamental scenographic challenge.
It was therefore necessary to imagine a specific and adapted device. In our eyes, a unique, singular and
visible process needed to take into account and overcome these constraints by introducing elements of interactivity, allowing visitors to participate in the scenography. The mechanical easel was able to meet these various constraints. Its verticality, industrial aesthetic, easy handling and the readability of its structure made this an efficient and uncompromising way of viewing architecture.
The floating polygons used to pick out each winner represented a further interactive device. Visiting an exhibition no longer means having to mechanically follow a circuit, whether signposted or not, nor passively receive information. Here, it is the visitors that seek, identify and find what interests them. Our intention was that the public should be able to select, choose and create its own point of view. The content is no longer exhibited/imposed. It is the visitors that reach out to find what interests them.
